Why? They are are two totally different concepts. The Tiki 26 is a minimalist coastal cruiser for four people -- maybe six when a deck pod is used--. This boat is intended to be a minimalist commercial/sustenance fishing boat for two to four fishermen. I am sure that a similar deck could be used, but I think the Tiki requires the beams as they are drawn in the plan w/o having to make some major design changes. I know the simplicity, or more so, the low cost of this deck syatem might be appealing, but if I were considering the Tiki 26 I would build her as she was designed. That advice appliies to the rig too! The crab claw is appealing costwise, as well. It makes a great offshore rig too, but the Tiki rig is the perfect rig for a coastal cruiser.
