We will be holding the Spring Wharram Rendezvous (a Hui Wharram) May 17-18-19, 2013 in Islamorada, FL (Florida Keys) at the world famous Lorelei Cabana Bar.
A “Hui Wharram” or “Hui-o-waa-Kaulua-Wharram” (Hawaiian) is a group or gathering of Wharram boats. There is no easier way to fulfill your sailing dreams – from sailing the trade winds or the local shores – than with a Wharram Sailing Catamaran. Wharrams range from 16’ to 63’ and are mostly home built of plywood. Stable, rugged, fast, FUN, comfortable, inexpensive to build, operate and repair!
Come, see and enjoy the boats. Just have fun. We talk about Wharrams and nearly any other boat. We tell sailing stories…some may even be true. We compare notes. We share pictures. We look at plans. We take pictures of each other’s boats and get some really good (and a few bad) ideas. We eat and drink and just have fun. Bring a boat if you have one but everyone is welcome … no boat needed! FREE! No registration, no costs, no plan (a perfect Keys event!)! Join us for a Dutch-treat dinner on Saturday night at the Lorelei…lots of door prizes!

We've moved the Dec 10-12 2010 Winter Florida Wharram Rendezvous location to Sunset Bay Marina & Anchorage in Stuart, Florida.
This venue offers many improvements over the Lake Worth location.
Sunset Bay has very good access by boat and car, a dinghy dock, large mooring field, fuel dock, pump out, bathrooms, showers, laundry facilities, wi-fi access in the mooring field, boaters lounge with big screen TV, and restaurant. It is also just a few blocks walk to downtown Stuart where there is an abundance of shopping and entertainment activities. There is also RV parking available.
Sunset Bay is located just west of the Roosevelt Bridges in Stuart on the south side of the St Lucie River (Latitude
27.2 Longitude -80.2583)
Here's their website for additional information: http://www.sunsetbaymarinaandanchorage.com/
We're still planning a pot luck on the boats on Saturday night .
Please RSVP to david@boatsmithfl.com or call David (561) 632-2628 for more information.

DARTMOUTH RALLY
SEPTEMBER 18-19 2010 – PLEASE NOTE THIS DATE.
My apologies for the confusion on dates of this popular event – both the above weekend and the following one have appeared as dates for the event but the above is correct.
We do hope that you will be able to come to this.
I shall be sending out menus for you to make choices during the next week but would much appreciate an indication if you are planning (or even hoping, possibly) to come – please let me know as soon as possible so we have an indication of numbers, both of boats for the harbour Authority and of numbers wanting to eat for the Royal Dart YC.
We will meet up during Saturday afternoon – the pontoon to the north of the Town Quay at Dartmouth is reserved for us, with a Happy Hour from 1800 on board Pax (we hope) and other members yachts.
Then to dinner at the Royal Dart Yacht Club - 1930 for 2000.
ALL C A MEMBERS AND GUESTS ARE MOST WELCOME - FULL DETAILS TO FOLLOW SHORTLY.

A New Zealand Wharram Meeting is being planned for next (NZ) Summer - likely in January 2011. I thought it best to give plenty of notice. The venue is not finalised yet, but it may be at Kawau Island in the Hauraki Gulf. It is hoped quite a number of Wharram catamarans will be able to attend. There is already a small group of enthusiastic Wharram sailors working on things!
If you are interested in taking part, please contact me.

The Winter Rendezvous is quickly approaching and we are expecting a good turnout. We have folks coming from Florida, Texas, Idaho, NY, NJ, Rhode Island, Mississippi, Michigan, British Columbia, and Europe!!
Plus, we have two exciting additions to our guest list - Richard Woods, well known British multihull designer, will be joining us in one of his Romanys and American designer Reuel Parker, famous for his shallow draft, traditionally inspired boats, will also be joining the festivities.
There will be one or two Tiki 46s, a Tiki 30, Tiki 26, Tiki 8M, Tangaroa, Hitia 17, Melanesia, and possibly a Tanneui. We are also expecting a large cruising Proa.
How to Find Us
We will be anchoring on the north west side of Peanut Island. We won't be monitoring VHF, but will have our cell phones. Call us at: 561-632-2628 or 561-632-5970 when you arrive.
Food and Amenities
There are bathrooms, showers, and grills on the island, but there are no stores or restaurants. You will need to bring your own food, drinks, towel, sunscreen etc.
We will be having a group dinner on Saturday night at the Sailfish Marina Restaurant on Singer Island, across from Peanut Island.
Since we are a large group, they will reserve a section of the restaurant for us and will provide a fixed price, full course meal including: a choice of: 12oz NY Strip Steak, Grilled Chicken, or Yellow Tail Snapper, with a side, a salad, non-alcoholic drinks and key lime pie for dessert. The price is $45 per person which includes tax and gratuities. They will also offer a children’s menu
Please let us know by Friday (12/4) if you plan on joining us for dinner so we can provide the restaurant with an approximate head count.
Hope to see you there!!

WHARRAM RENDEZVOUS
SPRING 2009
MAY 15, 16, 17
ISLAMORADA, FLORIDA
(THE FABULOUS FLORIDA KEYS)
IF YOU HAVE FRIENDS WHO WOULD BE INTERESTED IN GETTING EMAILS ABOUT WHARRAM EVENTS, PLEASE FORWARD THEIR EMAIL ADDRESSES TO floridawharramrendezvous@hotmail.com. THANKS.
The Florida Keys are a wonderful place to visit. Everything is close to our anchorage and nearly everything you might need is within walking distance. Please note that May is still high season in the Keys. Prices are high and traffic is heavy…some of the yearly sufferings we must go through in Paradise!
What Do People Do at a Wharram Rendezvous? We talk about Wharrams. We tell stories…some may even be true. We compare notes. We share pictures. We look at plans. We take pictures of each other’s boats and get some really good (and a few bad) ideas. If you haven’t seen a Wharram, are building a Wharram, thinking about sailing and cruising for a reasonable amount of money, want to do something unique or just like multihulls (or boats of any kind) we welcome you to the event. We welcome everyone…trimarans and even “half-boaters” (monohulls) too. Stinkpotters are welcome if you are really nice! If you just want to come and hang out that is OK too! Oh, yes, we do eat and drink a lot!
Here is new contact information for the Polynesian Catamaran Association (PCA, SeaPeople Magazine). If you are not already a member, do please join!
http://www.pca-seapeople.org.uk/index.html
a new forum exists at:
http://www.pca-seapeople.org.uk/forum/index.php
On a sad note, we were all sorry to hear about the passing of Ken Hook, PCA Secretary and long time Wharram enthusiast. Ken worked tirelessly for the PCA and the furtherance of Wharram concepts. His wife, Anita, shared his love of sailing and for Wharram boats and the club. We will all miss him. Fair Winds Ken!
OK, It’s getting close. Planning is progressing and we have been hearing from quite a few people. We hope to have a great turnout. New boats are being built and hopefully some of those will be completed in time to use this as their shakedown cruise. Hope that you can make it. Please let me know if you are thinking of attending.
We are expecting Wharrams of various sizes and descriptions. As of writing this email we are expecting the following boats: Melanesia 17, Tiki 21, Tiki 26, Tangaroa 29, Tanenui 29, Tiki 30, Pahi 31, Tangaroa 36, Tiki 38, Narai 42…and maybe more.
Please bring your dinghy if you can….we always need more transport!

2008 FLORIDA SUMMER WHARRAMRENDEZVOUS
Report by Gene Perry
It is with great pleasure that Iam reporting on this recent gathering of like-minded people. Not only was it a very enjoyable three-dayget-together but for me, it was a most enjoyable sail both ways to and from theFabulous Florida Keys. Of the manytimes I have made the trip through the years it was the only time that I hadfavorable winds and weather both ways and was able to sail the Atlanticocean passage nearly the entire time. We were also able to stay off the ICW (Intracoastal Waterway), with itsmany bridges, whenever I wished.
